Mrs. Figuracion's School Counseling

Yadkin Early College Applications are now available in the FMS office. These applications are due March 29th to Mrs. Figuracion. There will be several opportunities for students to meet with YEC faculty here at FMS. We will have the YEC administration here on January 25th to speak to ALL 8th grade students through their Social Studies classes.
There will be a tour and informational session at Forbush High School for ALL students on February 7th. This will take part during the school day.
High School Registration will begin in February. All students will register for FHS even if their plan is to attend YEC. Paperwork will be sent home for you to help your child choose classes. This paperwork will need to be signed and returned before their schedule can be entered into PowerSchool.
Reproductive Health Classes
Reproductive Health Classes will held for 8th grade on October 3rd and 4th. The 7th grade classes will be held on October 29th, 30th, & 31st. Permission forms will go home for 7th grade in mid-September and early October for the 8th grade. These forms MUST BE RETURNED in order for your child to participate in Reproductive Health Classes. If you would like more information about the program, the curriculum will be presented on Thursday, September 27th at 6:30 pm for 7th grade and 7:00 pm for 8th grade. If you are unable to make the parent night, the curriculum will be in the FMS media center for you to preview.
Students can access me anytime during the school day by simply asking their teacher if they can come to see the counselor. My office is in the main office. I have an intern from Wake Forest University, Chelsea Keaton, who will be working with me Tuesday - Friday. Please call me or email me with any concerns or questions!
