About Mrs. Atkins
I am excited to start the 2021-2022 school year at Forbush Middle School! I will be teaching 7th grade math and am the Beta Club Sponsor for FMS. This year I will be entering my 10th year of teaching, 4th here at FMS. My first 6 years were spent teaching math in the WSFCS district. I am passionate about the youth here in Yadkin County. I attended Fall Creek Elementary and Forbush High School. After graduating from FHS, I attended Western Carolina University where I obtained a degree in Elementary Education and K-6 licensure. After graduating, I took a job teaching exceptional children in a middle school setting in Elkin and found that my passion was truly with middle school students. Shortly after I started working in Elkin I took the steps to become certified to teach middle school mathematics. In 2013, the same year I married my husband Ryan, I completed coursework through Duke University and became AIG K-12 certified.
I am eager to get this school year started off on the right foot! If there is anything that you feel I need to know about you, or your child please do not hesitate to email me.
